About us

One of the most widespread and dangerous problems faced by humanity is that of poverty, hunger and starvation. There is nothing more horrifying than the realization that as we live our happy lives here, millions of our fellow human beings live in hunger and face starvation. The majority of the world population today lives in poverty. It is clear that the world system we have set up today is unjust and inhumane.

One of the great reforms that the Prophet Muhammad (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) brought was the rights and treatment of the poor. For instance theProphet Muhammad (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) taught the following: Allah's Apostle (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "Allah said, 'O son of Adam! Spend, and I shall spend on you." [Sahih Al-Bukhari]

He treated the poor with mercy and kindness, and he used to give them whatever he could, although he, himself, was poor. He also used to teach his companions to have mercy upon the poor as well. Consider his kind, sweet words: “O son of Adam! It is better for you if you spend your surplus (wealth), but if you withhold it, it is evil for you. There is (however) no reproach for you (if you withhold the essentials) for a living. And begin (charity) with your dependants; and the upper hand is better than the lower hand.” (Muslim)

And in another hadith we also read the following;
Narrated Abu Huraira (May Allah be pleased with him):

The Prophet (peace & blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "The one who looks after a widow or a poor person is like a Mujahid (warrior) who fights for Allah's Cause, or like him who performs prayers all the night and fasts all the day." [Sahih Al-Bukhari]
